Preventative Care

Preventative care is one of the most important ways to love and care for your pets health. Your pets teeth are just as important to them, as yours are to you!

ALL ANESTHESIA-FREE DENTALS ARE PERFORMED WITH A VET-PRESENT!!!

Just like us, pets can have complications due to poor oral hygiene such as:

  • Periodontal (gum) disease
  • Heart disease
  • Liver and Kidney problems

Anesthesia-Free is ideal for older pets with health concerns such as heart problems.

Actions for preventative care

Brush your pets teeth
Ideally you should brush your pets’ teeth at home daily as you would your own, however, DO NOT USE HUMAN TOOTHPASTE…it can be toxic to your pet. (There are flavored toothpaste that make brushing more pleasent) Brush at an angle in small circles. It is easiest to start in the back and move to the front.

Routine Cleanings
All pets should have their teeth cleaned at least every 6 months. Some large dogs can go 1 year between cleanings but every 6 months is usually best for them too. This will help prevent the build up of bacteria that causes periodontal disease that can lead to tooth loss and other major health problems.
